I have some new for you today, so here we go:
Adobe have just released the new version of Photoshop Elements – a “younger” brother of Photoshop.
Photoshop Elements is designed with home users in mind, it is not a professional software like Photoshop, and hence the price – $99 instead of ca.$700. Elements doesn’t have so many professional tools and options as Photoshop.
“Celebrating a 10-year history as well as a landmark 10th release, Photoshop Elements 10 is a showcase for innovation and expands the incredible things our customers can do with their photos,” said Winston Hendrickson, vice president of Digital Imaging Products, Adobe. “The new intelligent feature set and automated functionality in Photoshop Elements allow photo enthusiasts to elevate everyday photos from good to great.”
Some of the new features/enhancements include:
- now you can search not just for a face in the images, but also for a pet, a sunset, and more…
- duplicate detection – no more duplicates on your hard drive
- depth of field adjustment – the process is presented as a step-by-step process
- new text features – Elements 10 lets you input text to follow a path
