I know this is supposed to be all about Photoshop and Lightroom, but as you know I am a big ‘fanatic’ of Open Source as well.
So I thought it would be a good idea to spread some Open Source joy with Firefox OS announcement.
If you haven’t heard about Firefox OS, here you go:
Firefox OS is a mobile operating system created by the Mozilla organization, another mobile operating system like Android or iOS.
This has been in development for some time now, but later this month will see the launch of consumer devices.
What sets Firefox OS apart from Android and iOS especially is that Firefox OS is a completely web-standards based operating system. That means everything is built with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
The best part about Firefox OS and Mozilla, at least for me, is that Firefox OS is brought to you by Mozilla, a global nonprofit organization that emphasizes principle over profit.
Firefox OS is backed by some of the biggest names in the industry and because it’s built with HTML, JavaScript and CSS, it is free from the rules and restrictions of existing proprietary platforms.
