Adobe have announced Premiere Pro 14.5 (October 2020 update) and there come some new features with it.
One of the new and anticipated features is that Premiere will not natively support ProRes Raw. This means that now all Premiere Pro users will be able to edit Apple’s raw video format.
The ability to edit ProRes videos in Premiere Pro has been available for quite some time but up till now it was only available to Windows users using Nvidia graphics cards. Now, it’s available to all users on all Windows and macOS computers. All users will now be able to edit ProRes video no matter what GPU they have.
At the moment, there is no full support available but I guess with time Adobe will add more functionality to fully edit ProRes raw videos.
Adobe also added ProRes Raw to LOG colour space conversion in this update.
Another feature that has been added in October 2020 update is the support for HDR workflows in Rec2100 PQ colour space and faster audio pre-roll.
